In the high of this summer’s transfer season, news comes of a football player moving from Britain to Spain. The future of Kieran Trippier was unknown during the whole of June, but a move from his current team Tottenham was widely discussed. Finally, rumors may lay to rest as it was officially confirmed that the 28-year-old player will be joining the Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid.

It was reported that the player is undergoing a medical in Atletico Madrid after which the contract will be finalized by the two involved sides. This four-year contract will come at a fee of around $24.8 million which is not pretty spectacular considering the previous acquirements of the Spanish Club.

Since the transfer of Griezmann to Barcelona brought the club more than $130 million, it seems they got into really heavy spending considering the fact that this reinforcement comes after the acquirement of Jao Felix and Marcos Llorente which together had cost Atletico more than $184 million.

Trippier has had a great career so far, starting it back in 2009 playing for Manchester City. After City, he played in Barnsley and Burnley before being signed by his current team in 2015.
