Bayern Munich still hasn’t given up on trying to get England international Callum Hudson-Odoi to Allianz Arena. According to Telegraph, Bayern will attempt to get Hudson-Odoi on a season-long loan from Chelsea before the transfer window closes.

Bayern has been pursuing Hudson-Odoi since early 2019, but Chelsea didn’t want to let him go and ended up signing the player to a new five-year deal last summer. However, the 19-year-old player failed to impress since and seems to be out of manager Frank Lampard’s plans after failing to log in any minutes at the start of the new Premier League season.

Lampard previously stated that Hudson-Odoi needs to work more if he wants to get back into the lineup.

“Callum is a young developing player, and a lot of talk has come his way because of the way his career has gone at a young age,” said Lampard. “The facts remain the same for all young players. They have to work every day to put themselves in the frame to start.”

Bayern Munich is looking to use this situation as they believe Callum Hudson-Odoi be a good fit for their up-tempo attack. The club has Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, and Serge Gnabry on the wing positions but lacks depth behind the trio following the departures of Phillipe Coutinho and Ivan Perisic.

Hudson-Odoi made his senior debut for Chelsea during the 2017/18 season and has 63 appearances in all competitions so far while scoring eight goals.
