Leroy Sane left Bundesliga side Schalke 04 in 2016 to join Manchester City and was poised to make a big career in Premier League. Still, it seems like Sane could return home after just three years with Bayern Munich determined to sign him this summer.

Although he showed flashes of his amazing talent during his time in Premier League, Sane never managed to fully adapt to English football. This, combined with his reported off-the-field issues, caused him to play a reduced role this season and fell out of manager Pep Guardiola’s plans. While City didn’t make the 23-year-old publicly available, they are ready to listen to offers, which prompted Bayern to enquire for the player’s services.

While Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic didn’t want to comment on interest in Sane, team’s president Uli Hoeness didn’t mind announcing the world their intentions.

“Yes, we are negotiating with this player,” – Hoeness told reporters on Friday.

According to Guardian, Bayern Munich opened the talks with Man City by offering close to $90 million for Sane. They are now awaiting a response, but will most likely have to up their bid as City is reportedly asking for a figure between $100 million and $110 million for the player.

Despite starting just 30 games this season, Leroy Sane still managed to be effective on the field and help City win their second consecutive Premier League title. He scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in the national competition while adding six more goals and eight assists in other competitions.
