Veteran wideout Ted Gin just turned 35 but he isn’t thinking about walking away from football just yet. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport, Gin agreed to a one-year deal with Chicago Bears.

Gin is coming off a rather productive season with New Orleans Saints in which he caught 30 passes for 421 yards and two touchdowns. Although his 14.0 yards per catch were among the most impressive numbers in the league, he became expendable after New Orleans signed Emmanuel Sanders in the offseason.

Bears, however, could use depth on the WR position and now hope Gin can fill that need and step up in key moments. He can also play on special teams and has a history of being standout kickoff and punt returner.

Ted Gin came into the league in 2007 as Miami Dolphins’ ninth overall pick. And while he didn’t reach out to the heights he was expected to reach, Gin still enjoyed a respectable career. He played with four more teams during the years, serving as a reliable backup option capable of standing out in big games.

Gin has 409 career receptions for 5,702 yards and 68 touchdowns. He also has 9,499 kickoff and punt return yards combined alongside seven return touchdowns.
