The Chicago Bears have inked their standout wide receiver DJ Moore to a new contract extension, continuing their efforts to provide their rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, first overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, with quality offensive weapons.
The Bears confirmed the agreement with Moore on social media without disclosing the financial details. However, multiple reports indicate it is the largest extension in franchise history.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Moore received a four-year, $110 million extension with $82.6 million in guaranteed money. The Maryland product still has one year left on the three-year, $61.8 million extension he signed as a member of the Carolina Panthers.
With an average annual salary of $27.5 million, Moore became the seventh highest-paid wideout in the league. Additionally, his $82.6 million in guarantees only trail Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson ($110 million) and Philadelphia Eagles’ A.J. Brown ($84 million).
Moore joined the Bears last offseason in a trade that saw Chicago send the first overall pick to the Panthers, which was later used on Alabama’s signal-caller Bryce Young. He delivered a career year in 2023, playing in all 17 games and making 96 catches for 1,364 yards and eight touchdowns while leading the Bears in each of the previously mentioned categories.
Since becoming a first-round pick in 2018, Moore missed only two games. He has 460 career receptions for 6,565 receiving yards and 29 TDs.
