As the summer progresses, the plans for the future unfold showing us who ends up where. But besides the standard changes, some decide to stay where they are. The latest news comes from Ben Simmons who officially agreed on terms with the Philadelphia 76ers for a maximum contract extension. This all was confirmed by his agent Rich Paul in an interview with Shams Charania.

Since this was the last year from his rookie contract Simmons finally become qualified for a maximum extension. The contract proves the great expectations that the 76ers have from 22-year-old Simmons who had been the number 1 pick during the NBA drafts back in 2016. He is considered a rising star that can develop into a game-changing playmaker, even though there are many who are feeling skeptical about his maximal abilities.

The five-year contract extension will come at a fee of $170 million. During this last season of his four-year deal, he will earn about $8.1 million but reportedly his earnings will start to rise from next season, first to around $29 million and latter spiking to almost $39 million during the ’24-’25 season.
