Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase is expected to be out of action for four to six weeks due to suffering a hip injury, sources close to the matter revealed on Tuesday. After first experiencing discomfort during the Bengal’s Week 6 victory over the New Orleans Saints, Chase was listed on the team’s injury report with a hip issue and omitted from team practice.

Although he participated in practice to a limited extent prior to the Bengals’ win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, he appeared to pull up at the end of a route, thereby hinting that he had not entirely overcome his injury. After remaining on the field for the entirety of the game, Chase refused to go into specifics about his injury with reporters.

Sources confirmed that Chase had met with a specialist on Wednesday in order to seek more insight into his injury. When asked about Chase’s injury, Bengals coach Zac Taylor stated that the player is struggling with some soreness and that his condition is being monitored on a day-to-day basis.

As a result of the timeline of his injury, Chase may be placed on injured reserve, which would see him remain out of action for a minimum of four weeks.
