After losing forward Marcus Thuram in free agency, Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach is looking to make some additions up front. Their reported first target is FC Cinncinati’s striker Brandon Vazquez.

Getting Vazquez, who is also a member of the USMNT, won’t be an easy task. According to German reporter Florian Plettenberg, FC Cinncinati is currently asking for €8 million to €10 million for Vazquez.

Vazquez is currently with USMNT at CONCACAF Gold Cup. He is having a great tournament that saw him score three goals in four games.

The 24-year-old has been having a slow campaign in MLS in 2023, scoring only four goals in 17 matches played. However, Borussia has been monitoring him for some time and knows what they can expect from him long-term.

Vazquez previously had a stellar 2022 campaign in which he scored 18 goals and dished eight assists. This got him an MLS All-Star and selection to MLS Best IX.

Borussia Monchengladbach isn’t the only team hoping to get Vazquez this summer. With players reportedly being keen on a move, several other European clubs are believed to be in the mix. Premier League sides Crystal Palace, Everton, and Bournemouth all made formal inquiries in the past and might revisit their interest.
