Week 1 one of the 2020 NFL season introduced many big changes, but none bigger than future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady changing teams after 20 years and six Super Bowl victories with the New England Patriots.

But it was far from a fairytale transition for Brady, at least in Week 1. Despite the fact that his new Tampa Buccaneers team has loads of offensive weapons for him to deploy, Brady and the Bucs fell short to the New Orleans Saints, losing 34-23.

Brady looked sloppy, throwing two interceptions, one that was returned for a pick-6 by Saints cornerback Janoris Jenkins.

Meanwhile in New England, coach Bill Belichick won his first game of the post-Brady era. His recently-signed quarterback, former Carolina Panthers MVP Cam Newton, scored two rushing touchdowns to lead the Patriots to an easy 21-11 victory over the Miami Dolphins.

43-year-old Brady was outdueled by another veteran signal-caller, 41-year-old Drew Brees, who threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns.

Brady and the Bucs will face another division rival next week, the Panthers, while Newton and the Patriots will get their first real test of the season, squaring up against Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2.
