Premier League side Leicester City is looking for a new manager after Brendan Rodgers left the position by mutual consent. The club confirmed the news in a statement made on Sunday.

Rodgers’ exit follows the 2-1 defeat against Crystal Palace on Saturday, which pushed Leicester into the relegation zone of the Premier League standings. They have now failed to get a win in their past six matches, a run that included five losses.

The East Midlands-based club is currently sitting at No. 19 but still has a chance to save the season. The good news for Leicester is that there are 10 games left to be played, and they are only one point away behind teams in the safe zone. However, it became clear that Rodgers wasn’t the man that could get them there.

Brendan Rodgers took over the club in 2019 and saw a lot of early success. He guided the team to two top 5 finishes in the domestic league while winning an FA Cup and Community Shield trophies. Under Rodgers, Leicester also played semi-finals of the UEFA Europa Conference League, the furthest they have reached in European competitions.

But in the 2022-23 season, nothing went right for Leicester. The club picked up only one point from their first seven matches, at which point it was obvious that a tough campaign was ahead of them. They managed to make a brief turnaround after that but ended up crashing again and are now facing a tough battle to remain in Premier League.
