Broncos Adding Legendary Coach Mike Shanahan to Their Ring of Fame

Denver Broncos announced on Tuesday that they are adding their legendary head coach Mike Shanahan to the franchise’s Ring of Fame. Shanahan, who coached the Broncos to two Super Bowls will become the 34th member of the organization to receive this honor.

The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place in 2021 due to coronavirus pandemic. According to the Broncos, the franchise decided to postpone the festivities as Shanahan “deserves a full celebration in front of all of our fans and distinguished alumni.”

“Mike Shanahan is the greatest coach in Denver Broncos history and among the winningest coaches of all-time,” said איק team president and CEO Joe Ellis. “He brought an unmatched standard and intensity as head coach, leading this franchise to its first two Super Bowl wins and building the Broncos into perennial contenders. We are thrilled that Mike has now been elected to the Broncos’ Ring of Fame.”

Mike Shanahan coached Denver Broncos between 1995 and 2008, posting a 138-86 record in the regular season and 8-5 record in playoffs during his tenure. Besides two back-to-back Super Bowls in 1997 and 1998, Shanahan also led the Broncos to AFC Championship Game in 2005.

“It is a tremendous honor to be elected to the Broncos’ Ring of Fame,” – said Shanahan. “To spend 21 years with a first-class organization that is all about winning was special. It was a great run.”

Throughout his career, Shanahan also coached Raiders and Washington Redskins. He hasn’t coached in the NFL since 2013.
