Bronny James, the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, will play college basketball with USC Trojans. Bronny James made the announcement over the weekend via his social media.

James is considered one of the best players in his position in the 2023 class. He is projected to be a lottery pick if he enters the 2024 NBA Draft after one year in college.

Before he made his decision, Bronny James was the only uncommitted top prospect in the nation. His recruitment process was kept under wraps, and only a few people knew about his plans. There were rumors about him possibly spending one year in G League before entering the draft, but it appears the 18-year-old James opted for a more conventional college route.

Bronny James averaged 14.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.8 steals per game in his senior season with Sierra Canyon School. While not considered to be a generational talent as his dad, many believe he could have a long NBA career thanks to his playmaking, three-point shot, and defensive versatility.

If Bronny James enters the NBA in 2024, he will have his dad waiting for him to play together. LeBron James said on multiple occasions that he wants to team up with his son and still hasn’t changed his mind.

“I was serious,” the Lakers’ star responded when he was asked about his plans to play with his son. “And I’m still serious about it. Obviously, I’ve got to continue to keep my body and my mind fresh; I think my mind is most important.”
