The Cleveland Browns moved to 4-1 with a Sunday evening win over the Indianapolis Colts at FirstEnergy Stadium, marking the first time since 1994 that the long-suffering Browns began a season with 4 wins in 5 games.

The Browns, who are the owners of the NFL’s longest active postseason drought at 18 seasons, found plenty of offense against the number one ranked Colts defense to propel them towards a victory that has the Cleveland faithful starting to think that this might be the year.

Their win gave them a record after 5 weeks that they last owned in 1994, when Bill Belichick was coaching the team.

Baker Mayfield threw for 247 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions and new running back starter Kareem Hunt chipped in 72 yards on 20 carries. The Browns did their best work on defense in the second half, however, forcing Colts quarterback Philip Rivers to throw a pair of costly interceptions that they turned into points.

Long-time NFL star Jarvis Landry, who was traded to Cleveland prior to the 2018 season, showed his satisfaction with how the team has improved. He characterized the four-game winning streak that the team is currently on as “very special”, stating that “We continue to take strides each and every week.”

The Browns will look to continue their good start to the season next week in a tough game at the rival undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.
