Cleveland Browns’ starting running back Nick Chubb has suffered an MCL injury that will force him to miss significant time.

However, the Browns are optimistic that Chubb will be back this season and fully healthy, adding that he will not need surgery to fix the issue.

Chubb will be placed on injured reserve and most sources close to the team believe that he will probably have to miss at least six weeks before coming back sometime in November.

Chubb is a very important part of the Browns offensive, which has finally started to live up to its potential. He was the NFL’s second-leading rusher last season and was high on the list of top rushers this year as well coming into Week 4.

The good news for the Browns is that they have an improved offensive line this year and a very deep backfield that includes playmakers Kareem Hunt, D’Ernest Johnson, and Dontrell Hilliard.

Despite losing Chubb in the first quarter, the Browns were still able to rush for over 300 yards in their victory against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
