Don’t expect to see Cleveland Browns’ star defensive end Myles Garrett at the NFL’s Pro Bowl Games next year, even if he gets another Pro Bowl nod. Speaking with the media on Tuesday, Garrett said that he is “retired” from Pro Bowls after suffering a toe injury during this year’s event.

While running the obstacle course as part of the Gridiron Gauntlet game, Garrett stubbed his big toe and ended up dislocating it. He didn’t need a procedure to fix the injury, but the experience definitely left a bad taste in his mouth.

“Run-away-from-the-cops obstacle course,” Garrett, who is a four-time Pro Bowler, told reporters. “Jumping over walls and fences. Doesn’t make sense to me.”

While the big toe seems to be still bothering Garrett, he believes that it won’t be an issue once the season starts.

“It’s just frustrating,” he added. “But by the time the season rolls around, I don’t think it will be an issue.”

After witnessing years of uncompetitive Pro Bowl games, the league decided to scrap the AFC vs. NFC game altogether in 2023. Instead, a series of skill competitions were introduced, including Kick Tac Toe, Gridiron Gauntlet, and Lightning Round. The event also included three 7-on-7 flag football games.
