Although Milwaukee Bucks hoped they will have their guard Malcolm Brogdon ready for the Eastern Conference semifinals, it looks like that won’t be the case.

Bucks announced on Thursday that Brogdon, who has been out with a right foot injury since March 15th, won’t be at the team’s disposal for Games 1 and 2 against the Boston Celtics.

“We’ll reassess him after the first two,” – Bucks’ head coach Mike Budenholzer told reporters. “We’re hopeful that it (his return) will be this series. He’s been kind of on track and meeting (benchmarks), but he’s still got some hurdles to cover. An important 5-6 days here. We’ll assess it when we kind of get through this next little wave.”

Bucks ruled out Brogdon, who won the 2017 Rookie of the Year award, indefinitely on March 16th when an MRI test showed the 26-year-old has a partially torn plantar fascia in his right foot. The team’s initially though he will be back for the first round series against Detroit Pistons, but that didn’t happen. Still, Milwaukee didn’t have any problems in the series and closed out the series in four games.

Malcolm Brogdon started 64 games this season and managed to average 15.6 points, 3.2 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. He shot 50.5 percent from the field, 42.6 percent from the three-point line, and made 92.8 percent of his free throws, becoming the eighth player in the history of the league to achieve a 50–40–90 season.
