The Buffalo Bills and star quarterback Josh Allen agreed to a new contract that ties the reigning NFL MVP to the franchise through at least the 2030 NFL season.
Reportedly, Allen signed a six-year, $330 million contract that comes with $250 million in guaranteed money. This is the largest guarantee ever given to an NFL player, topping the $230 million that the Cleveland Browns gave to QB Deshaun Watson in 2022.
Allen’s average annual salary of $55 million is tied for the second highest in the NFL, with Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars), and Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers) earning the same figure on a yearly basis. Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott is at the top of the list with an average annual salary of $60 million.
The Bills confirmed Allen’s extension but didn’t disclose financial terms.
Josh Allen earned NFL MVP honors in 2024 after throwing for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns while adding 531 yards on the ground and 12 rushing TDs. This made him the first player in NFL history with 25 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns.
Since entering the league as the No. 7 pick in 2018, Josh Allen compiled a 76-34 record as a starter. He earned three Pro Bowl nods and two Second-team All-Pro selections. His 260 combined touchdowns are the most in NFL history throughout the player’s first seven seasons as a pro.
