Canadian star full back Alphonso Davies is playing in great form recently, and some of his performances were so outstanding that he even earned praises from Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick.

Talking with reporters ahead of the team’s DFB-Pokal match, Flick singled out Davies as “one of the top performers” for Bayern at the moment.

“Alphonso is doing outstandingly at the moment,” said Flick on Tuesday. “In addition to his speed on the pitch, he’s very adept defensively.”

Flick then went on to praise Davies’ overall impact on the pitch.

“Now, he’s setting up goals in attack and has scored some himself. He’s on a very good path. He’s young—he can and wants to learn,” he added.

Alphonso Davies broke into Bayern’s starting eleven under Flick and quickly became indispensable on the left side. Davies already played 37 games this season in all competitions and has three goals and nine assists to his name.

Davies, who came to Germany in January 2019 from MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps, is viewed as one of the future leaders for the Bundesliga giants and is expected to remain with the club for years to come. Bayern previously showed its appreciation for the youngster back in April when they gave him a new contract extension that runs through 2025.
