The Washington Capitals are still alive after finally getting the best of the New York Islanders in Game 4 of their playoff series.

After losing the first three games, the Capitals needed someone to step up, and who better than the greatest player in the history of the organization, Alexander Ovechkin.

After giving up two early goals, the Capitals battled back and scored 3 unanswered goals in the last two periods, winning Game 4 by a score of 3-2 and getting their first win in the series, which the Islanders lead 3-1.

Only four teams in the history of the NHL have been able to come back and win a playoff series after falling into a 3-0 series deficit, the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs, 1975 New York Islanders, 2010 Philadelphia Flyers, 2014 Los Angeles Kings.

The 34-year-old Ovechkin, playing his 15th season, was once again the savior, scoring his first goal of the game and third of the postseason at 5:29 of the second period to get the Caps going. He then added another goal at 3:40 of the third period, taking a turnover all of the way down the ice and scoring high. That was his second of the game and fourth of the series.

Washington center Evgeny Kuznetsov netted the go-ahead goal, giving the Caps the win, keeping the series alive.
