Arizona Cardinals is facing some big expectations this year after encouraging the 2019 NFL season and several big offseason moves. As it turns out, Cardinals’ players are well aware of the “hype” that surrounds the team and think it’s justified.

Cardinals’ running back Kenyan Drake made an appearance on Good Morning Football on Thursday and said that he believes Arizona has a great team entering the 2020 NFL season.

“I feel like the hype is warranted, to be honest,” said Drake. “When you add arguably the best receiver in the league in DeAndre Hopkins, the most electric quarterback in the league in Kyler Murray, you add me to the fold, you add a couple more pieces to the O-line, on defense, you draft a (Swiss Army) knife in Isaiah Simmons, shore up the D-line and bring in other people to build a great puzzle. (That’s) what we have in Arizona. “

According to Drake, these improved Cardinals are now ready to make waves around the league.

“I feel like we’re going to go out there and really take the league by storm, especially our division,” he added.

While you can’t blame Drake for dreaming big, it is hard to see Arizona Cardinals clicking right away and vastly improving the 5-10-1 record from 2019. They are a young team with a second-year quarterback and second-year head coach while playing in one of the toughest divisions in NFC alongside San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Rams.

Cardinals will definitely be an interesting team to watch this season, but they are probably several years away from being a true contender.
