The Arizona Cardinals’ already stalled offense could face more issues in the coming weeks. According to multiple reports, Cardinals’ top wide receiver Marquise Brown suffered a serious foot injury and is expected to miss significant time.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that there is even a possibility Brown doesn’t return to the field at all this season. The 25-year-old player is scheduled to undergo more tests, but the Cardinals don’t seem overly optimistic about their outcomes.

Brown got hurt late in the fourth quarter of the Week 6 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He went up for a catch, which ended up being intercepted, and came down awkwardly. The Oklahoma product needed help to get off the field and was later seen wearing a walking boot.

The 2-4 Cardinals have been struggling to move down the field and get points on board lately, and Brown’s injury will make that even worse. He was their best player on offense so far, recording 43 catches for 485 yards and three touchdowns.

The only thing that doesn’t make this a season-altering disaster for Arizona is that veteran wideout DeAndre Hopkins will be back on the field in Week 7. Hopkins, who has five Pro Bowl nods on his resume, was suspended for the first six games in 2022 for violating NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.
