Real Madrid’s manager Carlo Ancelotti won’t pursue new jobs after his spell with the La Liga giants eventually wraps up. Speaking with Il Messagero, Ancelotti confirmed plans to retire after his Real job.

“This stage at Madrid will bring an end to my career,” said Ancelotti. “After Real Madrid, I will retire.”

According to Ancelotti, it makes sense to call it quits after coaching such a successful club.

“Real Madrid is at the very top of football. It makes sense to call it a day after this experience,” he added.

Carlo Ancelotti is currently in his second stint as a Real Madrid manager. He joined the club last summer from Everton and immediately led to club to La Liga and the Supercopa de España titles. He also won the UEFA Champions League. Ancelotti has a contract for two more seasons, after which he could decide to step away and retire.

Ancelotti is one of the most accomplished managers in the history of the game, having won 24 trophies with AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris-Saint Germain, Bayern Munchen, and Real. He worked with big clubs from all five big European leagues and won domestic titles in each. His trophy tally also includes two UCL wins with AC Milan and two with Real Madrid.
