Vince Carter isn’t planning to retire. Despite being 42 years old Vince Carter is ready to play in the next season.

During the “Winging It” podcast with Kent Bazemore and host Annie Feinberg, Vince Carter said that he will play in the 22nd season in the NBA. He also said that he would like to return to the Atlanta Hawks. The topic of his future was brought up during the podcast when they were discussing the retirement of Dwayne Wade and Dirk Nowitzki.

Carter holds the 20th place on the NBA all-time scoring list with 25,430 points. Among the players who are still active he ranks in the top five In games played, 3-pointers made, field goals made, minutes played and points scored. Last season, Carter crossed the 25,000 point mark against the Toronto Raptors with a 14 point game. Unsurprisingly the former slam dunk champion surpassed the 25,000th mark with a dunk.

The Hawks became the eight team in which Carter played last summer after he signed a one-year minimum contract. Previously he has played for Orlando Magic, Dallas Mavericks, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors, Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and New Jersey Nets.
