The post Bucks Fear That Star Damian Lillard Suffered an Achilles Tear appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Lillard, who recently returned from deep vein thrombosis, got hurt with less than six minutes left in the first quarter. The veteran tried to secure an offensive rebound when he fell on the ground. He needed help to get up and didn’t return to the game after.
Speaking after the game, the Bucks’ head coach Doc Rivers said things are not looking good for Lillard.
“Just being honest, it’s not very promising,” Rivers said. “I knew it right away. I felt bad for him; the guy tried to come back for his team. I just felt bad for him.”
Lillard was limited to 58 games in the regular season, averaging 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.1 assists. He missed almost a month due to deep vein thrombosis before returning for Game 2 of the series against Indiana. He struggled since then, averaging 10.5 points in Games 2 and 3.
The Bucks now find themselves in a tough position in the first-round playoff series against the Pacers. They are down 3-1 in the series and need an away win to avoid being eliminated in the first round for the third straight season.

The Grizzlies will now face the first-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder in the first round of Western Conference Playoffs.
The Heat got in with a 123-114 overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks. They made some history in the process, becoming the first No. 10 seed in NBA history to make the playoffs.
Miami, who will face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, was led by Tyler Herro with 30 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Veteran point guard Davion Mitchell also made a big contribution by scoring nine points in the overtime.
The 2025 NBA Playoffs will also see the Houston Rockets (No. 2) face the Golden State Warriors (No. 7), the Los Angeles Lakers (No. 3) going up against the Minnesota Timberwolves (No. 6), and the Denver Nuggets (No. 4) taking on the Los Angeles Clippers (No. 5) in the Western Conference.
The rest of Eastern Conference matchups include the Boston Celtics (No. 2) versus Orlando Magic (No. 7), the New York Knicks (No. 3) versus Detroit Pistons (No. 6), and the Indiana Pacers (No. 4) versus the Milwaukee Bucks (No. 5).

]]>Paul also became just the third player with 82 appearances in a season at the age of 39. John Stockton did it for the Utah Jazz in 2001–02, before repeating the feat at the age of 40, and Michael Jordan did it for the Washington Wizards in 2002–03.
“It’s crazy,” Paul said after the game in which he had 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals. “I was talking to my wife about this. When you’re sort of in it, you’re not really thinking about it. It’s like, ‘OK, it’s Game 30. OK, it’s Game 40-something. It’s game such and such.'”
Paul was one of three Spurs players to play in all 82 games this season. The other two were Julian Champagnie and Harrison Barnes.
Chris Paul joined the San Antonio Spurs in the offseason, signing a one-year, $10.46 million deal with the franchise. He was brought in to serve as a mentor to the Spurs’ young core and received rave reviews from the coaching staff for his efforts.
Paul finished the season averaging 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. The Spurs tumbled down the standings after a good start, mostly due to Victor Wembanyama’s season-ending injury, and finished the campaign at No. 13 in the West with a 34-48 record.

]]>According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Anthony was notified on Wednesday that he was elected to the Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class. Anthony was announced as one of the finalists in February, alongside the likes of three-time Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard and WNBA legend Sue Bird.
Following Charania’s reports, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James congratulated Anthony via a post on X.
After leading Syracuse to the school’s first-ever NCAA title as a freshman, Carmelo Anthony entered the 2003 NBA Draft and was selected third overall by the Denver Nuggets. He spent seven full seasons with the Nuggets before forcing a trade to his hometown Knicks midway through 2010–11. Anthony also suited up for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Lakers towards the end of his NBA career.
During his time in the league, Anthony earned 10 All-Star honors and six All-NBA selections. He was also the NBA scoring champion in 2013 and got elected to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
Anthony is also known for his contributions to the United States men’s national basketball team. He represented Team USA at four Olympics and won three gold medals.

]]>The post Michael Jordan’s Game-Worn Rookie Jersey Sells for $4.215 Million appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>The jersey was photo-matched to a preseason game that Jordan played for the Bulls on October 5, 1984, and several other games during his rookie season. It was already auctioned off in 2009 when it reached the price of $66,000. This is the only jersey from Jordan’s rookie season to become available at an auction to date.
Another interesting thing about the jersey is that it has been repurposed. The Bulls likely took a jersey worn by another player, removed the name and the number of the previous holder, and placed Jordan’s.
With a sale price of $4.215 million, it became the fifth most expensive NBA jersey sold at an auction. The record is held by Jordan’s jersey from Game 1 of the 1998 NBA Finals ($10.1 million), followed by Kobe Bryant’s jersey from the 2007-08 MVP season ($5.85 million), Wilt Chamberlain’s jersey from title-clinching Game 5 of 1972 NBA Finals ($4.9 million), and jersey Jordan wore during the 1996-97 NBA season ($4.7 million).
Sotheby’s also plans to auction off Bryant’s game-worn jersey from his rookie season in April. The jersey, which the late Los Angeles Lakers wore in seven games in 1996-1997, is expected to fetch a price of $10 million.

]]>The post Warriors’ Draymond Green on DPOY Chances: “1 Million Percent I Have a Case” appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Green, who is considered one of the best defenders of his generation, delivered a defensive masterclass in the Bucks game. He bothered Milwaukee’s superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo throughout the game, holding him to 20 points and just five field goals. Green also made four blocks and two steals.
When asked whether he has a case for the DPOY award during a post-game interview, Green didn’t hesitate.
“Obviously, if we keep winning and close this year out strong, most definitely,” Green said. “I look around the league and don’t see many players impacting the game on the defensive end the way I do. I don’t see many players completely throwing off an entire team’s offense the way I do.”
Green added that the DPOY race is wide open after San Antonio Spurs’ star Victor Wembanyama, an early favorite for the award, was ruled out for the remainder of the season.
“So 1 million percent I have a case, and I will continue to build that case for these next 13 games. Tonight was a prime example of that,” he shared.
Green previously won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year back in 2017. He was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team four times while also receiving the same number of NBA All-Defensive Second Team nods.

]]>This was the 29th triple-double in a season for Jokic, matching his franchise-record total from 2022-23. Additionally, his 22 assists were a career record and most-ever for center in a single NBA game.
“Nikola Jokic is one of one,” Nuggets head coach Michael Malone said. “I mean, the first player to ever have a 30, 20 and 20 game. I can’t describe him, so don’t ask me to. The guy is just an incredible player, and when you are one of one in this league and the tremendous history of this league, that says a lot. And there’s a lot of good players in this league, but Nikola, in my opinion, is just in a class well by himself.”
Nikola Jokic is currently on track to become only the third player in NBA history to average a triple-double in a season. Throughout 57 games in 2024-25, Jokic is averaging 28.9 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 10.6 assists per game.
On the back of Jokic’s excellent performances, the Nuggets have re-established themselves as a championship contender. They have won seven out of their last 10 games and are currently sitting third in the Western Conference standings with a 41-22 record.

]]>Doncic finished the night with a triple-double, scoring 19 points and adding 15 rebounds and 12 assists. It was his 91st career triple-double and made him only the third player to have a triple-double against all 30 NBA teams.
The only players to achieve this feat besides Doncic are his Lakers teammate LeBron James and Denver Nuggets’ Russell Westbrook.
The Dallas Mavericks opted to trade Doncic to the Lakers ahead of the NBA trade deadline, receiving All-Star Anthony Davis, shooting guard Max Christie, and a first-round pick in exchange. The move isn’t turning out well for the Mavs at the moment, as they went 5-5 since the trade while Davis will miss at least two weeks due to an injury.
The Lakers, on the other hand, have compiled an 8-2 record during that time and are currently riding a three-game winning streak. Doncic is also getting into rhythm after a slow start, putting up 32 points against the Nuggets earlier this week and now having a triple-double against the Lakers.

]]>James played in the Rising Stars Challenge in his rookie year in 2004 and then proceeded to be selected the All-Star starter for a record 21 times. He played in 20 previous All-Star games and was named the All-Star MVP three times.
“I was hoping it would feel a lot better this morning, but it was not where I wanted it to be,” James said explaining his decision to sit out.
James previously also missed the Lakers’ 124-117 win over the Indiana Pacers last week due to the same injury. The veteran is now targeting Wednesday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets for his return to the court.
Despite playing his 22nd season in the NBA, James still remains one of the best players in basketball. He is averaging 24.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 9.0 assists per game in 2024-25, helping the Lakers to a 32-20 record and fifth place in the Western Conference.
Even without James, Team Shaq managed to win the new iteration of the All-Star Game. They beat Team Candance in the semi-finals of the mini-tournament before a 41-25 win over Team Chuck in the finals. Golden State Warriors’ Stephen Curry was honored with the All-Star MVP award.

]]>Reportedly, the deal will see Spurs receive Fox and veteran Jordan McLaughlin from the Kings. Sacramento will get LaVine from the Bulls and Sidy Cissoko from the Spurs while also receiving three first-round picks and three second-round picks. Finally, the Bulls will get Zach Collins and Tre Jones from the Spurs, and Kevin Huerter from the Kings, and re-acquire their own first-round pick from 2025.
The deal will see the Spurs finally get another star to complement their franchise centerpiece in Victor Wembanyama. San Antonio managed to do so without scarifying their promising young players or giving up a big chunk of the draft assets they have piled up over the last couple of years.
Despite struggling with three-point shooting this season, Fox is putting together another impressive campaign in 2024-25. He is currently averaging 25.0 points to go with 6.1 assists and a career-high 5.0 rebounds.
Kings’ decision to move on from Fox isn’t surprising considering that the All-Star point guard showed little intention of remaining in Sacramento. Despite being offered an extension on multiple occasions, Fox rejected the opportunity to commit to the franchise, something which Kings took as a sign that they have to act quickly in order not to lose him for nothing when his contract expires in the summer of 2026.
In LaVine, the Kings received a polarizing player but one that they have under contract for several more years and who can put up big numbers on the offense. LaVine is currently playing the most efficient basketball of his career, shooting 44.6% from behind the arc and 51.1% from the floor. He is averaging 24.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
Finally, the Bulls are happy to finally move LaVine after shopping him for the past two seasons without much success. They also get several movable contracts and the opportunity to pick in the lottery in the 2025 NBA Draft if their season unravels.
