Luka Doncic used the first opportunity he got to make the Dallas Mavericks regret trading him to the Los Angeles Lakers. Playing for the first time against his former team, Doncic led the Lakers to a 107-99 win while achieving something that only two players before him managed to do.
Doncic finished the night with a triple-double, scoring 19 points and adding 15 rebounds and 12 assists. It was his 91st career triple-double and made him only the third player to have a triple-double against all 30 NBA teams.
The only players to achieve this feat besides Doncic are his Lakers teammate LeBron James and Denver Nuggets’ Russell Westbrook.
The Dallas Mavericks opted to trade Doncic to the Lakers ahead of the NBA trade deadline, receiving All-Star Anthony Davis, shooting guard Max Christie, and a first-round pick in exchange. The move isn’t turning out well for the Mavs at the moment, as they went 5-5 since the trade while Davis will miss at least two weeks due to an injury.
The Lakers, on the other hand, have compiled an 8-2 record during that time and are currently riding a three-game winning streak. Doncic is also getting into rhythm after a slow start, putting up 32 points against the Nuggets earlier this week and now having a triple-double against the Lakers.
