The confidence in the Los Angeles Chargers locker room is at an all-time high if we are to believe team’s defensive end, Melvin Ingram. The 26-year-old Pro Bowler talked with reporters on Monday and already predicting that the Chargers can bring a Super Bowl trophy in Los Angeles in 2018 NFL season.

“This Super Bowl, we’re going to win,” said Ingram after Los Angeles’ OTAs. “We haven’t been to the playoffs in a while. I think it’s going to be crazy. This Super Bowl, we’re going to win, going to be, ‘Hey, we ready, we grinding.”

Ingram also doesn’t think he is putting too much pressure on his teammates with these predictions.

“I was taught you got to speak stuff into existence,” he added. “If you want to do something, you’ve got to say you going to go do it, and then you got to go do it. You can’t just say we’re just trying to win a few games. No, that’s not what we’re trying to do. We’re trying to win a Super Bowl.”

Melvin Ingram has all the right reasons to be confident, especially since he played his best football in the last season. He played in all 16 games and had 60 tackles, 8.0 sacks, four forced fumbles and five deflected passes. In 2017 Ingram also earned his first career Pro Bowl selection.

Although Chargers winning the Super Bowl is a bit of a stretch, by all means, the team has shown great potential in the last season. They have started the season with 3-6 record, and then won 6 out of their last seven games and narrowly missed out the opportunity to appear in playoffs for the first time since 2013, losing a tiebreaker to Tennessee Titans and Buffalo Bills.
