The contract dispute between LA Chargers and Pro Bowl outside linebacker Melvin Ingram appears to be over. According to NFL Network, Ingram recently signed an adjusted contract with Chargers and decided to take full participation in the training camp once again.

Ingram previously decided to sit out team practices, demanding improved deal as he was entering the final year of the four-year, $64 million contract that he signed back in 2017. Reportedly, the 31-year-old player didn’t get an extension with the new agreement, but the Chargers did turn his unguaranteed $14 million salary in 2020 into guaranteed money.

Both Chargers and Ingram previously stayed mum when asked about the issue and didn’t acknowledge there is anything wrong. However, the reporters watching the practice noticed that Ingram wasn’t taking part in it and was sitting down the whole time.  When pressed about the issue at the time, the team’s head coach Anthony Lynn referred to it as “company business.”

Melvin Ingram has been phenomenal for Chargers in recent years, getting three consecutive Pro Bowl nods in the past three seasons. In 2019, Ingram was limited to 13 games but still managed to fill the stat sheet, finishing the year with 48 tackles, 7.0 sacks, one interception, and five pass deflections.
