LA Clippers’ are putting the final touches on what is turning out to be a juggernaut coaching staff.

According to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Clippers are finalizing the deals with Chauncey Billups and Larry Drew that would see them come on board as assistants under head coach Ty Lue. The duo would join former Brooklyn Nets’ head coach Kenny Atkinson and highly-respected Miami Heat’s assistant Dan Craig, who joined Lue’s staff last month.

Billups has an impressive reputation in the NBA, having previously led the Detroit Pistons to an NBA championship as a player back in 2004. The five-time All-Star is viewed as the respected figure among today’s players, and the Clippers’ hope that his winning mentality and hard work attitude can rub off their underperforming stars.

Since retiring, Billups transitioned into a broadcasting career but has been reportedly looking for a chance to get back to NBA as an executive or a coach. He was previously a candidate for the general manager job with Cleveland Cavaliers as well as one of the favorites for Indiana Pacers’ head coaching vacancy.

Drew, on the other hand, comes with an impressive resume that includes head coaching stints with Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He was also a longtime assistant with LA Lakers.
