Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser al Khelaifi met with Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly in Paris on Tuesday to discuss the potential transfer of Neymar, sources revealed. While Boehly was reportedly interested in bringing the Brazilian forward to London during the last summer transfer window, a deal never materialized.

Neymar expressed his desire to leave PSG during the last transfer window, however, he was unable to find a club willing to take him on. He remains under contract with the Ligue 1 giants until June 20247 in a deal worth €30 million a year.

Despite his high wage and the longevity of his contract, Neymar has fallen out of favor with the club. As a result, both he and PSG’s owners are on the hunt for a new club for the 31-year-old player.

Prior to Boehly’s interest in Neymar, former Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel expressed his desire to bring Neymar to Stamford Bridge. This time, however, both clubs are making moves to progress the deal, with Al Khelaifi and Boehly meeting in a luxury hotel near the Arc de Triomphe for lunch to discuss the deal as well as the failed transfer of Hakim Ziyech to Paris at the end of the January transfer window.
