Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel revealed that midfielder Christian Pulisic is “really suffering” as he attempts to recover from the ankle injury that he sustained during the second half of the United States’ world cup qualifier against Honduras on September 8. This was also the last time that Pulisic appeared for either club or country.

“It was a tough foul and he hurt his ankle. There is nothing to worry [about] in terms of that we are hiding details or not telling you details. I cannot give you all the details because I am simply not a doctor,” Tuchel assured members of the press.

The Chelsea boss also explained that the pain issue that Pulisic is faced with is the pain of his injury. While there are no major complications resulting from the injury, Pulisic will have to get the pain under control in order to return to action.

The Blues are eagerly awaiting Pulisic’s return, particularly since they struggled to hit the ground running in both of their last two Premier League outings. Chelsea left it until late to secure a 3-1 victory against Southampton two weeks ago, scoring their second and third goals during the last 10 minutes of play. The Blues then narrowly defeated Brentford 1-0 courtesy of a Ben Chilwell strike on the stroke of halftime.
