Kansas City Chiefs’ placekicker Harrison Butker has only two seasons of NFL football under his belt, but that didn’t stop him from becoming one of the league’s highest paid players on his position.

Chiefs announced on Thursday that they had signed Butker to a five-year deal which will keep him with the organization through 2024. According to NFL Network, the contract is worth $20 million overall or $4 million annually. This places the 23-year-old on eighth place when it comes to yearly average on kicker position. Currently, the highest paid PK in the league is Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Tucker, who earns $5 million a year.

Chiefs confirmed Butker’s extension on their social media.

Harrison Butker started his NFL career with Carolina Panthers, who took him in the seventh round of 2017 NFL Draft. Panthers ended up releasing him in favor of Graham Gano, which opened the opportunity for kicker-needy Chiefs.

After converting a game-winning field goal in his debut game against the Washington Redskins, Butker took over the starting kicker position with Kansas City and never looked back. His NFL career stats include 279 points scored, 89.9 percent field goal conversion, and 95.9 percent extra point conversion.
