Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce decided to use the offseason to address the issues he has with his ankle. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Kelce underwent ankle surgery in last week with the procedure being considered as a “cleanup.”

The news shouldn’t worry the Chiefs’ fans too much, as Kelce isn’t expected to miss significant time. The 29-year-old Pro Bowler won’t be able to participate in Kansas City’s spring program but is expected to return in time for training camp.

After being drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL draft, Travis Kelce went on to establish himself as one of the best tight ends in the game. He has four consecutive Pro Bowl appearances, from 2015 to 2018, while earning two First-team All-Pro and one Second-team All-Pro honors.

Kelce played in all 16 games in 2018 regular season and had statistically the best year in his career. He posted career highs in receptions (103), receiving yards (1,336), and touchdowns (10). He also added 10 receptions for 131 yards and one touchdown in the postseason.
