Chelsea’s manager Frank Lampard thinks that USMNT star Christian Pulisic could become one of the best soccer players in the world in the future. According to Lampard, Pulisic “has talent” to reach the level of Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah and Sadio Mane.

After struggling to stay healthy earlier in the season, Pulisic received extended playing time following Premier League’s returned to activity in June. The 21-year-old responded with some spectacular performances which included scoring in Chelsea’s wins over Aston Villa and Man City.

Naturally, this earned him praises from his manager.

“I think he can become a really big player,” said Lampard in a recent chat with ProSoccerTalk. “We have to take his age into consideration, but there’s no doubting the quality. We can see that. He’s very keen to improve and to work, and he’s particularly hungry at the minute because he missed some time with his injury.”

According to Lampard, Pulisic is only beginning to realize his potential.

“He has the ability of the Raheem Sterling’s who are producing numbers from wide areas, the Mo Salah’s and Mane’s. It’s important he understands the work that needs to be done to do that because he definitely has the talent to do that,” he added.

Christian Pulisic joined Chelsea last summer from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. And although he had ups and downs during his first season in England, Pulisic still managed to show that he represents the future of the London club.

Pulisic played a total of 26 games in all competitions with Chelsea in 2019/20, scoring eight goals and dishing six assists.
