It might have taken a little while for American wonderboy Christian Pulisic to make his mark with Chelsea after a big money move last summer, but his performance on Saturday in Chelsea’s 4-2 win over Burnley showed why the winger is considered one of the game’s top young talents.

Pulisic scored a hat trick, netting three goals in the Blues’ resounding win over the mid-table Clarets. He became the youngest player in the history of the club at the age of 21 to score a hat trick for the historic English club.

The Hershey, Pennsylvania native had only made three Premier League starts for Chelsea before Saturday’s game, and he took full advantage of the chance to impress manager Frank Lampard. He showed off why he was so highly-valued after being signed for nearly $75 million over the summer, using his athleticism and shooting skills to net a trio of goals.

He has now netted three goals and two assists in seven Premier League appearances on the year.

Playing time won’t be easy to come by for Pulisic at Chelsea, but if he is able to keep putting together performances like he did on Saturday, Lampard might have no choice but to make him one of his top options.
