For the third time in the past four years, the Clemson Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide met to determine college football´s champion.

In 2019, Clemson claimed the title, and with authority.

Dabo Swinney´s Tigers demolished Nick Saban´s Crimson Tide by four touchdowns, claiming the College Football Playoff Title for the second time in the past 3 seasons.

Despite entering the game as #2 in the country and as 5.5 point underdogs, Clemson left no doubt as to who college football´s best team was in the 2018-19 season after Monday night in Santa Clara.

A relatively close tight first sixteen minutes of the game, which actually ended with Alabama up by a 16-14 score, ended with 30 unanswered Clemson points.

Star freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence led the Tigers with 347 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, establishing himself as one of the game´s brightest future stars.

Running back Travis Etienne also chipped in two touchdowns on the ground along with 86 rushing yards.

Heisman runner-up Tua Tagovailoa uncharacteristically threw two interceptions as Alabama´s quarterback, one of which was returned for a Clemson TD on the game´s opening drive.

Alabama fell short as in their bid to repeat as national champions, and Clemson is the first team to finish with a 15-0 record in college football since 1897, claiming the big prize.
