The Indianapolis Colts and Dallas Cowboys advanced to the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs on Saturday by winning their wild card round games.

The Colts kicked off the 2019 playoffs with a game against the Houston Texans. Despite playing on the road at NRG Stadium in Houston, the Colts and resurgent quarterback Andrew Luck controlled the game and left with a comfortable 21-7 victory.

Luck threw for 222 yards and two touchdowns. The standout offensive player for Indianapolis was unheralded running back Marlon Mack. He ran for 148 yards and scored a touchdown in the first quarter.

The Colts controlled the game with a 21-0 lead at the 6:47 mark of the second quarter, and they managed to hold on and advance to the next round, where they will play the top-seeded Kansas City Chiefs next Saturday.

In Saturday’s nightcap, the 4th seed Dallas Cowboys escaped with a 24-22 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

The game was a back-and-forth affair with 5 total lead changes. The Cowboys trailed 14-10 at the end of the third quarter after Seahawks QB Russell Wilson ran for a touchdown, but they took a 24-14 lead the next quarter after Ezekiel Elliott and Dak Prescott each ran for a touchdown.

Elliott was the Cowboys’ player of the game, as the running back ran for 137 yards and a touchdown. The Seahawks scored a late touchdown to narrow the score, but were unable to recover an onside kick at the end of the game.
