The Dallas Cowboys left it late but still ended up signing their quarterback Dak Prescott to a new contract extension before their Week 1 game against the Cleveland Brown.

According to multiple reports, Prescott and the Cowboys agreed to a four-year, $240 million extension that comes with $231 million in guaranteed money. With $60 million per year, Prescott is now the highest-paid player in NFL history. He tops the $55 annually that Cincinnati Bengals’ Joe Burrow, Green Bay Packers’ Jordan Love, and Jacksonville Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence make.

The Cowboys confirmed the extension on Saturday, right before their game with the Brown was scheduled to kick off, but didn’t disclose the financial terms of the agreement.

After receiving the extension, Prescott immediately got back to business, leading the Cowboys to a 33-17 win. He threw for 179 yards and a touchdown while finishing the game with an 85.3 QB rating.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Prescott said he is “excited” to get the extension done and that he can now focus on his goal of winning a Super Bowl.

“It’s my only motivation,” Prescott told reporters. “Hold up my part of this deal. Just deliver that. That’s my motivation. Right now, it’s about celebrating this win tonight. Hell of a win with these guys, excited for this plane ride back with them, but then turning the page tomorrow, getting on to the Saints and taking it one game at a time.”
