Cristiano Ronaldo took charge for a slumping Portugal team, scoring 4 goals and leading the Navigators to a 5-1 win against Lithuania in Euro 2020 qualifying.

The all-time top goalscorer for Portugal’s national team added four more scores to his total with the country, pushing his total to 93 since making his debut with his country in 2003. The Juventus forward has now scored goals against 40 different countries in his international career and has scored 8 hat tricks for Portugal.

Portugal badly needed a big performance from its superstar on Tuesday night in Vilnius. The reigning European champions dug themselves a hole early in qualifying, drawing their first two games against Serbia and Ukraine at home. They’ve gotten themselves back into a position to qualify, however, winning 4-2 on the road against Serbia and 5-1 against Lithuania over this international break.

Ronaldo was unstoppable against an overmatched Lithuania squad on Tuesday night, showing the skill and clinical finishing ability in front of the net that has turned him into one of soccer’s all-time legends since the beginning of his career.

The 34-year-old striker will return to his club team, Juventus, for its match against Fiorentina in Turin on Saturday.
