In the final hour of the transfer window, British clubs were rushing to conclude the final signings and bring new players to their teams. The British Premier League club Crystal Palace brought the last reinforcement for this transfer season and this time it comes from Everton. The 28-year-old midfielder James McCarthy has signed a contract that will take him to Selhurst Park.

Considering the departure of Aaron Wan Bissaka, Crystal Palace had a need to seriously reinforce its lines and they hope they will achieve it by bringing players like McCarthy. The length of the contract that the Irishman has signed is still unknown, but it will be disclosed in the next few days.

Crystal Palace and Everton have agreed on a fairly low transfer fee of almost $3.7 million, considering the fact that McCarthy’s market value is considered around $5.6 million.

The manager of Crystal Palace, Roy Hodgson, says that he was really pleased they were able to bring McCarthy to the club because he was a player Hodgson admired for a very long time.

He is the fifth player that is joining Crystal Palace this summer.
