This year’s French Open turned out to be a pretty surprising one, entertaining the audience with a lot of interesting moments and unexpected outcomes.

Many of the favorites had unexpectedly left the competition in its early stages and this trend continues to the last matches. In continuation of these interesting turnarounds, the Czech teenage professional tennis player Marketa Vondrousova surprised everyone with her stunning performance which kicked the British star Johanna Konta out of the competition.

The 19-year-old Vondrousova finished the match against Konta with 7-5 and 7-6 (2).

Because the game between Nadal and Federer was set to be played on Chatrier, the match between Konta and Vondrousova was moved to Court Simonne Mathieu, which caused a lot of reactions in the tennis community and from the players as well. Even though she said the court itself is beautiful, Konta also commented that playing in a half-empty stadium was not appropriate for a semi-final, and Federer joined her in her reaction about the late notice rescheduling.

In the meanwhile, the match between Ashleigh Barty and Amanda Inisimova took place on the Court Suzanne Lenglen and the Australian scored a victory with 6-7(4), 6-3 and 6-3.
