26-year-old running back Damien Harris has signed a one-year deal with the Buffalo Bills. The arrival of Harris comes as the Bills’ previous lead rusher Devin Singletary signed a one-year deal with the Houston Texans worth $3.75 million.

Singletary’s departure is a major loss for the Bills, considering that he led the team in rushing since he was first selected by the team in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Harris was drafted by the New England Patriots just 14 places later.

Harris was the number one running back for the Patriots until he was passed over for Rhamondre Stevenson in 2022. He was also limited to just six games due to a thigh injury.

Prior to joining the Bills, Harris revealed his willingness to remain with the Patriots. “If they want to have me, I’d love to be back,” he explained. “But at the end of the day, I know this is a business. The organization is going to do what they feel is best for them and I have to do what I feel is best for me.”
