The Las Vegas Raiders entered the 2022 NFL season as one of the dark-horse teams to make the Super Bowl. But after Week 3, even making the playoffs seems like an unreachable goal for the Raiders, as they are the only team in the league to lose all of their first three games.
When asked how he feels about the team’s winless start on Tuesday, star wideout Davante Adams didn’t hold back and said he’s “frustrated and angry.”
“Expect more,” Adams added. “It’s not easy to win in this league. We know that. Nobody’s naïve to the fact that nobody’s just going to lay down and just give you a victory, but at the end of the day, we expect more, and we will do better as we move forward.”
But despite losses, the Raiders have been competitive in all of their matches. This is what gives Adams hope that they can turn things around.
“Stay the course. Keep grinding and doing what we’re doing. We just need to tweak a few things,” he explained.
Being 0-3 to start the season must be quite a shock for Davante Adams, considering he got so accustomed to winning in the regular season while with the Green Bay Packers. During his eight years with the Packers, Adams never even had a 0-2 start. Also, Green Bay was the NFC’s top-seeded team after the regular season in each of the past three seasons.
Adams opted to leave the Packers this past offseason in order to team up with quarterback Derek Carr, with whom he played at college. The 29-year-old Pro Bowler had a great debut as a Raider, catching 10 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown in the season opener, but struggled in the past two weeks. He combined only seven catches for 48 yards, although he did score two TDs in the process.
