With the 2020 NBA Draft fast approaching, the Detroit Pistons have expressed their interest in top prospect LaMelo Ball. While the team currently holds the number seven draft pick, general manager Troy Weaver has hinted to the press that “moving up is definitely an option.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ball was spotted training in Detroit in an effort to bolster his chances ahead of the NBA Draft. Since then, he has remained a top target for the Pistons going into the new NBA season.

Ball recently hosted a free basketball camp at Oakland Fieldhouse in Michigan for kids age eight to 13. According to the Pistons general manager Weaver, the franchise is looking to book an interview with Ball in an effort to get to know him better.

According to ESPN, Ball has already met with the Minnesota Timberwolves who currently hold the number one draft pick. The meeting, that took place in Southern California, was conducted with head coach Ryan Saunders and Timberwolves president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas.

Despite this update, Weaver remains confident of the Pistons’ chances to lure in Ball, backing up his claim by stating that “everything’s on the table”.
