Novak Djokovic is preparing for the clay season, and it seems that he has an old friend beside him.

Marjan Vajda, the person who made Djokovic who he is today, was spotted practicing with his protege yesterday and immediately the speculations about Vajda’s return emerged to the surface.

It is confirmed now, that their partnership has been restored once again.

”Vajda is very happy to find himself on the court once again. He missed all the action, and also he wants to help Novak. Two of them started practicing with the highest intensity possible, and the positive energy is immediately felt around them. Djokovic is thrilled to have his old mentor back.” Novak’s team issued a statement to the media.

Since the last year, this is the first time that the two had contact. The Slovakian coach was with Djokovic throughout his whole career until the previous season when Novak disbanded his coaching team.

According to most of the experts and Djokovic itself, Vajda is the most important figure in his development.

Lately, the Serb has been struggling with his performances. Since the time when he won all four Grand Slams in a row, Djokovic’s game dropped significantly, and above all, he had troubles with injuries.

Several days ago he let go Radek Stepanek and Andre Aggasi who were his coaches at the time. Except for winning Eastbourne, there were no major results during their cooperation.

Is this a sign that one of the best in history might be coming back?
