Miami and Jacksonville quarterbacks Ryan Fitzpatrick and Gardner Minshew traded jabs this week about beards and mustaches and which look was a better one. In Thursday night’s matchup between the Dolphins and Jaguars, the beard definitely won.

The bearded Fitzpatrick dominated Minshew and his mustache, leading the Dolphins to a 31-13 victory. Fitzpatrick started off hot, connecting on 12 straight passes to open up the game, and the team never looked back. The veteran quarterback ended up completing 90% of his passes, throwing for two touchdowns, and running another one in himself.

People who have been following the 37-year-old quarterback’s career should already know that the Jaguars don’t stand a chance against Fitz-Magic. This is the sixth time Fitzpatrick has defeated the Jaguars in his career, and he has done it playing for six different teams.

And while Minshew has looked like a viable franchise quarterback at the start of his second season, he couldn’t get anything going on offense for the Jaguars on Thursday night, probably because he was missing his top target D.J. Clark.

While Minshew was able to amass 275 yards, almost all of them were earned on check-downs and short passes. Minshew finished the game with no touchdowns and one interception.
