Miami Dolphins continued their sale on Monday. According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Dolphins traded running back Kenyan Drake to Arizona Cardinals in exchange for a conditional draft pick in 2020.

The pick that Dolphins received is a sixth-round pick, but could end up turning into a fifth-rounder if certain conditions are met.

Dolphins were expected to trade Drake for a while now, as he is set to become a free agent in March. In the past few weeks, several teams engaged in talks with Miami about the 25-year-old rusher, but Cardinals came up with the best offer.

With 174 yards, Drake was Miami Dolphins’ leading rusher in 2019. He was also second in receptions, having 22 catches for 174 yards.

Cardinals became thin on RB position after their leading rusher David Johnson suffered an ankle injury in Week 7, while his replacement Chase Edmonds had a hamstring injury on Sunday against New Orleans Saints. Both Johnson and Edmonds will be out for Week 9 and maybe more, so Arizona is expected to get Kenyan Drake involved right away.

Drake, who was a third round pick in 2016 NFL Draft, has 1,532 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns since he entered the league. He also added 116 receptions for 936 yards and six TDs.
