In the aftermath of Kevin Durant’s departure, Golden State Warriors are making sure they remain competitive in years to come by keeping their original Big 3 intact. After signing Klay Thompson to a new deal at the start of free agency, Warriors now also extended forward Draymond Green.

Golden State announced over the weekend that Green inked a “multi-year” extension with the team while failing to release financial terms. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, however, reports that the deal is worth $100 million over four years.

Green has one year left on his old deal, which will bring him $18 million in 2019/20.

By signing his extension now, Draymond Green basically gave Golden State Warriors a discount. If he waited to hit the free agency after 2019/20, Green would have been eligible for a five-year deal that could bring him close to $200. Still, it is believed that the 29-year-old forward made the deal earlier in order to give his team financial flexibility and remain with the franchise that drafted him.

After getting this deal done, Warriors now have Green, Klay Thompson, and Stephen Curry under contract for at least next three years. They also brought in D’Angelo Russell in free agency, signing him on a four year max deal.
