Wide receiver DeSean Jackson isn’t having a great start of his second stint with Philadelphia Eagles. After not playing since Week 1 due to groin injury, Jackson returned against Chicago Bears’ on Sunday. Still, he remained on the field for just one series before being taken out of the game.

While many assumed Jackson aggravated his injury, it turns out that the Eagles were just cautious with the 32-year-old. According to coach Doug Pederson, the team expects him to be fully fit in Week 11. Philly is on a bye in Week 10.

“Leading up to the game, he had been in his rehab, running, and felt really good,” – said Pederson. “He had a great week of practice and preparation and we had looked at the Bears game as a possible date for him to return and play. He felt good. It was something we had a lot of collaboration on, not only with our doctors but with DeSean to play in this football game. He was going to be limited, we knew that going in. He wasn’t going to play the full game. Everybody was comfortable with that decision.”

“But I fully expect him to be good in a couple of weeks,” he added.

Before leaving the game against Bears, Jackson had one catch for eight yards. In Week 1 against Washington Redskins, he had eight receptions for 154 yards and two touchdowns

DeSean Jackson spent the first six years of his career with Philadelphia Eagles, who drafted him in the second round of 2008 NFL Draft. After three Pro Bowl appearances as a member of Eagles, Jackson embarked on stints with Redskins and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jackson’s NFL career stats include 598 receptions for 10,420 yards and 55 touchdowns.
