The Miami Dolphins offensive linesman Liam Eichenberg is set to spend some time on the sidelines after incurring an MCL injury, head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed on Monday. Currently, there is no set timetable for Eichenberg’s recovery.

The 24-year-old player was carted off the field by medical staff during his team’s 31-27 win over the Detroit Lions. He went down after experiencing pain in his knee and was immediately ruled out of the game with a knee injury. Although the injury has been diagnosed, Eichenberg revealed that the team is still evaluating his condition, adding that he is thankful that the issue is not more serious than it was.

Prior to incurring his injury, Eichenberg had started all eight games of Miami’s NFL games this season at his position of left guard. Since being selected as the team’s second-round pick in the 2021 draft, Eichenberg has become a regular starter for the Dolphins.

Robert Jones filled Eichenberg’s position for the remainder of the Pistons game. In addition to Eichenberg’s injury news, the Dolphins announced that they will activate right tackle Austin Jackson who has been on injured reserve since Week 2, however, he is not expected to play during the Dolphins’ Week 9 clash against the Chicago Bears.
