Saturday’s group draw for EURO 2024, which will be hosted by Germany next summer, has treated soccer fans with several interesting matchups. Twenty-one national teams were drawn in six groups, with three spots left up for grabs through playoff tournaments.

The most entertaining action is expected in Group B, where defending champions Italy are set to face two-time EURO winners Spain, World Cup semi-finalists Croatia, and Albania.

In Group D, World Cup finalists France, who are searching for their first European Championship trophy since 2000, will play Netherlands, Austria, and the winner of the Path A playoff tournament. Poland, Wales, Finland, and Estonia are looking to punch their EURO 2024 ticket through Path A.

Germany has been given an easy path to the knockout stage, playing in Group A alongside Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland.

England, who reached the finals at the 2020 tournament, also shouldn’t have many problems in their Group C, where they will face Slovenia, Denmark, and Serbia.

Playoff tournaments to determine the final three national teams at EURO 2024 will be played in March. Path B tournament features Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Israel, and Ukraine. Path C tournament features Georgia, Greece, Kazakhstan, and Luxembourg.

EURO 2024 will kick off on June 14 and conclude on July 14 with a Finals match at Berlin’s Olympiastadion. The winner of each group will advance to the knockout stage alongside second-placed teams. The remaining spots in the Round of 16 will be filled with four third-place teams with the most points.
